Alma Villareal

Client Service Specialist

Alma is part of the Client Services Team, setting up new accounts and serving as liaison for financial institutions and clients alike.

Born and raised in Reno, NV, Alma attended Galena High School and TMCC. With her background in banking and customer service, and her fluency in Spanish, Alma loves to make people smile. Fun Fact: Alma and Sandra have a common background in cosmetology. Being with AWM since 2023 has been one of Alma’s biggest blessings. Alma is very proud of her two children and adores being a mom. We are very grateful to have her during the weekdays, as Alma devotes her weekends to her family, doing fun activities throughout NV with her son, her fiancé and local, extended family.

Erin Eddings

Director of First Impressions

Erin is responsible for providing a welcoming atmosphere for AWM, scheduling appointments, and assisting clients and staff, with various daily activities, communications, and reports.

Before AWM, Erin put her people skills to use as a Case Manager/Community Health Worker II for over 16 years working for non-profits and healthcare in Reno. Whether via phone or basking in the attentive ambiance of our lobby, her eclectic appreciation of music, passion for storytelling (and listening), and her love of family will draw you in. With a B.A. in Romance Languages, she might answer the phone in Spanish or French before turning to share a community resource with you, or perhaps a story about her daughter or husband—and, to her delight, you’ll find yourself sharing too!

Doreen Phillips

Director of First Impressions

Doreen is the first person you see when you walk into the AWM office. Equipped with 20 years of customer service experience, she helps clients stay connected to AWM’s financial advisors through phone calls and one-on-one meetings. In addition to scheduling appointments, Doreen also prepares reports for the advisors and maintains files. She is also essential to the client services team as she prepares the necessary documents to open new accounts, maintains client contact information, and prepares reports for client meetings.

Doreen is originally from San Diego, Cal., loves the beach, and loves hiking in areas around Reno and Tahoe. In her spare time, she participates in the Crochet Ministry, Meals Ministry, and Greeting Ministry at her church and loves loves spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Sandra Carey

Client Service Specialist

Sandra is in charge of the account opening process as well as data entry and assisting clients with questions on their accounts. She has been a member of the AWM team since 2011 and loves working with clients to make sure their needs are met.

Originally from Madrid, Spain, Sandra moved to the U.S. in 1993 and attended both Fresno State University and Sierra College. Her fluency in Spanish is a major asset in aiding Spanish-speaking clients with their accounts. Before joining AWM, Sandra worked with special needs children and taught ESL. She has two daughters who she loves hiking, dancing, and traveling with. Sandra is far from home, but has found a new family and lifelong friends in Reno with her coworkers and clients.

Cindy Fogleman

Client Service Specialist

Cindy has sincerely enjoyed working with American Wealth Management’s staff and clients since she joined the company in 1992. After her departure from AWM in 1997 she returned in 2005. She is proud to work with a team that is committed to family core values, advancing technology, and providing the highest level of service.

A third-generation Nevadan, Cindy attended the University of Nevada, Reno. Cindy is involved in the community and served as Treasurer of a local non-profit organization. She has two daughters and a granddaughter. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and watching her granddaughter and daughter compete in rodeo and gymkhana events.

Dee Schafer

Director of Client Experience

Dee has extensive experience in client and customer relations and has spent a great deal of her career working in the non-profit, medical, and financial industries, developing strategic plans, programs, and systems. Dee is heavily involved in the community and has served as Chair of the Reno/Sparks Chamber of Commerce, Reno/Sparks Adult Leadership Program, and Reno/Sparks Youth Leadership Program. She has also volunteered for numerous local organizations, including the United Way of Northern Nevada, Casa de Vida, and Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows.

DJ Lee

Wealth Advisor & Investment Analyst

DJ is the newest member of the AWM team and is passionate about helping clients achieve their financial goals through educated financial decisions. He enjoys working with the experienced AWM team and mirrors the company’s commitments to independence, transparency, and fiduciary standards.

DJ adds a great deal of experience to an already talented team. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and earned both a master’s degree in finance and a bachelor’s degree in information systems from the University of Nevada, Reno. Previously, DJ was an investment manager at another local firm where he managed high-net-worth client portfolios. He also worked for Oracle Korea as the senior business operations manager. In addition to working at AWM, DJ is an adjunct finance professor at UNR.

Cindy Christiansen

Office Administrator & Assistant Compliance Officer

Cindy has been with AWM since 1996, first serving in the capacity of client service specialist as a registered assistant. In 2002, she became the office administrator and quickly adapted to managing all the compliance needs of the firm. She enjoys the never-ending education and challenges her position requires. She is proficient in a number of skillsets and knows the ins and outs of the financial industry. Additionally, she coordinates all of the company’s licensing needs and is the point person for CPAs and clients during tax season. Cindy is proud to work for a company that treats its employees like family.

A second-generation Reno native, Cindy studied at the University of Nevada, Reno. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband riding ATVs, snowmobiling, and boating.

Boyong Park

Wealth Advisor & Financial Analyst, CFA Level III Candidate

Bo joined the AWM team in 2014 as an investment analyst. He participates in weekly investment committee meetings, oversees clients’ accounts, maintains AWM’s investment models, and performs due diligence on AWM’s investments. Now, as an advisor, he is passionate about educating clients. He enjoys helping clients make sound financial decisions so that they can reach their long-term goals.

Bo earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in finance from the University of Nevada, Reno. Prior to joining the AWM team, Bo was a finance lecturer and graduate assistant at UNR.
