Bo is a Chartered Financial Analyst who is experienced in researching investment opportunities in the equity and fixed income markets as well as analyzing, trading, and maintaining client portfolios.

Born and raised in South Korea, Bo traveled to Reno when he was 17. This experience pushed him to attend college in the U.S. He earned a B.S. and an M.S. in finance from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Bo joined the American Wealth Management team while working as a UNR finance instructor in 2014. While he started as a financial analyst and trader, he now also manages the firm’s proprietary strategies to better protect client investments. He’s an expert in macroeconomics and alternative investing.

Bo officially earned his CFA designation in 2022. He actively serves in the community as a member of the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce and the Korean-American Association of Reno.

In addition to his full-time career, Bo teaches introductory finance to undergraduate students at UNR. His teaching strengths are mirrored in his client relationships. He excels at explaining complex ideas and solutions simply so his clients can be confident about their financial decisions.

Bo believes every client should understand all of their options to make the best financial decisions for their individual needs. He uses analytics, ample research, and insights to build thoughtful custom portfolios. Chartered Financial Analyst, CFA®

The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) is a professional designation given by the CFA Institute that measures the competence and integrity of financial analysts. The CFA Program is a graduate-level self-study program that combines a broad-based curriculum of investment principles with professional conduct requirements. Candidates are required to pass three levels of examinations covering areas such as accounting, economics, ethics, money management and security analysis. Before a candidate is eligible to become a CFA charter holder, he/she must meet minimum experience requirements in the area of investment/financial practice. To enroll in the program, a candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree.
